I know I’m shouting

So I Didn’t Go To Mykonos…

10 May 2008 · 2 Comments

because two days ago I started feeling ill, and it got worse on the day of my Ancient Greek final, and I thought I’d be well enough to travel today, but alas. So I didn’t go to Mykonos, and consequently I am not going to get to see Delos.

I really should have done it sooner. Now I have these unused ferry tickets.

In other things

1) I am definitely going to be in Oberlin this summer, working for the ref desk in Mudd. I’m going to be in Oberlin by May 17th, and I don’t start work till May 27th, so I’ll have lots of time to bum around and see all y’all. But I’m going to need to find a place to crash between May 17th to May 31st, as the village housing I got doesn’t open till June 1. Anyone? No?

2) Finals have been going all right. Then again I’ve just had the one (Modern Greek). I will probably have to take the Ancient Greek final on Monday, the same day as my Orthodox test, and the day before my Archaeology of Athens test, which I will probably barely pass but I can’t really give very much of a damn anymore. I know I’m supposed to pretend it matters, but a) it doesn’t, really and b) I’m leaving in five days! Who cares?

3) A list that’s only two items long is sad.

That’s a shame. I’m a student of Classics too, and I’d love to see that stuff. My parents-in-law are going to Mykonos this summer. Are you living in Greece right now while you study?

Yes; I’ve been living in Athens and studying with the College Year in Athens program.
